Deprived shot and Fibroids

I have had my period since Sept 2016..Dr gave me depro shot in Oct and ther period continued..I have had blood work and an ultra sound and I have 3 fibroids .5mm.. period got heavy again in Nov and finally did a DNC on Dec 8. Did have period for 3 days after DNC but they it started again...finally stopped for 14 days on Dec 27 and then it started again Jan 10 and got my second depro shot on Jan 1th and I still have period...it isn't heavy but it is very draining now and in am so depressed. Is the shot the right was to go even with the fibroids ?  I am 50 years old and As per my blood work not in me a pause yet ? I cry all the time, I dot want to go any where cause what happens if it gets bad....dr said if it doesn't stop in 6 months he will remove my uterus...I am not sure mentally I can wait that long or if that is the right thing to do ?
