Deprovera Shot
I had the deprovera shot earlier this month to thin out the lining of my cervix. Will I have all the side effects I have read about from just one shot? I do not plan on taking any more shots just could not get pregnant again. What will happen after this shot wears off? Will I have a long or heavy period?

Taking depo was horrible. At firts it was ok but then about a week after I got my shot (I only had one) My period started and it is still going. I got my shot in July, I had nausea, my breasts were verrry tender and the mood swings were horrible. And to top it all off I I got Hives.
A friend got depo for over a year and never got her cycle. So each person is different. She also got pregnant within a year of stopping the shot.

I hate that shot, it made me gain alot of weight and when I got off it the appetite was still there,now I am trying to get pregnant and its a big mess, I wouldnt suggest the Derovera shot to anyone, the only good thing about it was having no period!!!
I made the mistake of taking the shot for over 3 years, I have never been the same, my system is all out of wack still! and i've been off of it for 6 years, I am now having problems getting pregnant! If you can stay away, I know now taking a pill isn't that bad.
you might not have a period for a few months i came off the deprovera 2 months ago i only had 2 shots and still no period. some people are different some have long periods for months and other have a very short period which only last a day or two but no one can really tell you what your periods will be like. The side effects you might be one of the lucky ones you might not get any side effects when i got the depo the first time i didnt get any side effects i went back on it after i had my daughter and i had hair loss, i gained 100lbs in 8mths, i got really moody so came off it i would advice you not to get the shot again its hell believe me
