Hello,
I recently had a pelvic and transvaginal ultrasound performed and my OBGYN told me that the main issue is a 6cm (approx.) fibroid on the fundus of my uterus. After reading the results myself I don't see where it says this information on the report, as it looks to me like the 6.6 x 4.5cm size given in the report is relating to the size of the uterus, not the size of the fibroid in question. Furthermore, the report goes on to say that the largest (fibroid) is 1.9 x 1.5 x 1.5cm.
Could someone with knowledge in this area please offer me their interpretation of the results? Thank you.
The report reads as follows:
The uterus is retroverted and has a non-homogeneous internal echo pattern. It measures 6.6 x 4.5cm at the fundus. There are multiple small fibroids, the largest is posterior measuring 1.9 x 1.5 x 1.5cm.
The double layer of the endometrial lining measures 1.2cm in thickness.
Both ovaries are seen.
The right ovary measures 4.2 x 4.1 x 3.3cm and contains a cyst measuring 3.2 x 2.9 x 2.8cm.
The left ovary measures 3.1 x 2.4 x 2cm.
No pelvic mass or fluid collection is demonstrated.
OPINION:
Myomatous uterus. Right ovarian cyst. Follow up in 2-3 cycles is recommended.
