First Response Pregnancy Test

Hi there!  I am about a week late for AF so I tested using a First Response test.  I captured the urine in a cup and dipped the test in. I held it in and counted for the five seconds, but it did not seem like the urnie was flowing (it may have only been 10 seconds I was waiting, but seemed like a long time) so I dipped it really quick again and I saw the urine start to seep through.  It came back positive, but I wasn't sure how sensitive the test were, if my dipping again my have thrown off the result. On the instructions it highlights 5 seconds.  We have ben ttc for 5 months after having a tubal reversal, so I am hoping it is correct and I will test again in the am.  But just thought I would ask.  Thanks!!!

I think that too much urine would if anything make your result a false negative because it would dilute the sample.

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay another bfp for us tubal reversal sisters!!!

Woo Hoo!!!

Repeat it tomorrow or the next day, following the instructions exactly.  Use first morning urine.

I was going to add! when you test tomorrow just leave it there for 5 seconds as directed! even if you don't see it going through, Im sure when you lay it somwehere to wait those three looooong minutes you will see how the urine goes through the test slowly!  that's how it worked when I took it! Good luck again!

I agree ... I didn't see mine start rising immediately, but the timeline in the directions was sufficient to get my BFP. It sounds to me like tomorrow morning will verify your good news, but I agree to stick closely to the directions so you have no concerns after you get your next BFP tomorrow! Best wishes to you, and CONGRATULATIONS! Let us know when you test again.

I will post tomorrow and let you know my results.  I have also been so hot, I checked my temp and it was 99.1.  So, I am guessing that is also a good sign, along with my unsettled stomache, and lack of period.  I am just a little worried about an etopic, I know I have a higher chance of that since I had my tubes untied.  Are there any signs of that, or is the only way to tell is with an ultrasound?

I had a check-up at five weeks (three weeks after I conceived) and was told that my uterus "felt pregnant." It helped to put my mind at ease a bit. I would definitely recommend the same if you are nervous. I don't believe it is a guarantee, but it is certainly a good sign! ;0) Best wishes!

Hi there! I've used the same test and actually did the same procedure you did! I dipped the test in the cup for 5 seconds no pee seemed to go through it but as soon as I laid it you can see it going through. I don't think that the result could be wrong if you left it there for longer than 5 minutes! but that's just me. Test again tomorrow morning to be 100% sure! good luck! and Congrats on that + !!!!!

It doesnt matter how many times you deep in that stick, its your urine and you'll always get positive when your hormone level is high. The result cant be wrong cas of redeeping but for the peace of mind test it again to make sure. Good luck and congratulations:)

Are you having any abdominal pain? I have read a lot of info about ectopic and other pregnancy complications as was worried a lot when got pregnant. When you having abdominal pain(mostly on one side), bleeding, faiting could be the sigh of ectopic but again it is too early to tell and yes it can be determine by ultrasound. I had cyst on my ovary b4 i got pregnant and i was 2 weeeks late for my period, also i had pain in my tummy so doctor send me for an ultrasound to check for ectopic, they didnt see anything but the tech told me that even if it was ectopic it will only show when you are about 5-6weeks pregnant. I'm sure you fine dnt worry too much just be happy you got pregnant. Your temperature quite high and i'm sure your hormones are rising every hour so try to relax as much and you can.
I wish you all the best:)

No, I am not having any stomache pain.  My back hurts a bit, kind of feel like I might get AF soon.  I think i'm just in a bit of shock.  I thought I would never see that positive.  And I really didn't think I was this time either.  I told myself I would test on Wednesday, before we are set to go to Disney, so I would know if I could go on the rides.  But I couldn't wait, I am glad I didnt.  I don't think I could have made it all weekend without confirmation from my Dr.  I will call him in the morning and try to get an appt for Monday.  Thanks again!!
