HELP! Cant see dr. til next weel!

I have extreme itching in my vaginal area but also towards my urinary passage.  The itching is more profound around the urninary wall then anywhere else.  Very red and swollen.  The itching is so severe I get goose bumps.  It last seconds and comes right back.  Scratching only helps for a little while.  I thought it was a yeast infection and purchased monistat 3, this is the first day so i havent seen much relief just yet.  I also have a vaginal cream, stings profoundly when i applied.  Can a yeast infection be present so forward of the vagina by the urinary area?  I cant get an appt until next week and i am in much pain and very uncomfortable.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It does sounds like a yeast infection to me as well..i mean if this is only the first day i would give it another day or so and see if you feel any better..I dont know what kind of cream you have but i would try vagisil...it will help with the itching or even my OBGYN said to try to use Desitin because i had the same problem after having my son. He said that Desitin is for babies but he said it can help out alot with that kind of irritation. Im not sure if you recently had a baby or not but if you did than using a pad might irritate you a little bit because you havent worn one in so long but other than that i would try vagisil for the itching and desitin to help with the healing of the rawness.

Yes it sounds like a yeast infection, you can get things to cure it from the chemist. Also take a supplement called acidophilus, it puts good bacteria back in your system. A nd like tara said wear cotton underwear and dont use bubblebath or soap!!

Yes, It could still be a yeast infection. In fact its rare that I actually get them internally. Until the monistat starts working keep the area as clean and dry as possible, Do not use soap and only wear cotton knickers.

And yes, the cream does sting like crazy at first....OUCH
