hi ang4188
i have a daughter who is 7 weeks old, nearly 8 weeks old and she was delivered by C section, i hate the fact that she was delieved that way but she was 14 days over due and the hospital was worried about her health, anyway. i have been in the same position you have been in, the doctors think that my pains and everything are just in my head and that i need to go and see some1, not only because they say my pains are just in my head bu also because i did a questionnaire type thing and my score was quite high so my health visitor says im on border line for depression, and i ave to do another one of those things when i go to have my 6 to 8 week check up so im scared that they will tell me that im depressed n not gettin better, and i dont want to go on anti depressents cos they are a sod to get off.
im 17 btw, but i hope this helps, n if u wana tlk

I had to have an emergency c-section (my daughter got stuck) so after 30hrs of labour they gave me an epidural. I did not experience anything quite as bad as what you have described but I did have alot of numbness.
My girlfriend also experienced alot of numbness, sharp shooting pains in the extremeties, and blackouts do to trauma in her back. After years of going from doctor to doctor and living in a wheel chair she went to see a chiropractor and it turned out that she had a pinched nerve in her neck. I don't know if that helps but it might be worth checking out. Good luck.
The same esact thing happen to me. I had to get 2 epidurals. It was hard getting the pain on only one side of your body and having to go through another epidural. It was well worth it though. Could not even move/feel my legs for hours.

i had an epidurl with my son. then anthestist (sorry i cant spell it) didnt put it in right. the right side of me didnt feel a thing where as the the left side of me felt everything. i have a big lump on my back adn constant back aches where they put it in. sometimes my back needs to eb cracked. epidurls are nasty and i wouldnt recomend it unless u know the person doing it knows waht they are doing as obviously mine didnt. my point to this story is if u did get an epidurl get ur doctor to check the site the put the needle in or got oa remedial masseuse, they help me out a bit
yes i also think it sounds like something to do with spinal block doctors probly trying to cover there backs goodluck
I agree with the above post. It may be connected to anesthesia.
I've never had children but I am curious if you had any type of epidural or anesthesia (sp?) administered through your spine? I have heard of some women that had complications when the epidural was administered, pinching a nerve, or doing something to the spine. Just a suggestion, sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
