Hi there and welcome to the forum.  I'm trying to understand what you are saying.  Is this INSIDE your vagina?  Do you have discharge?  That could be because of an overgrowth of yeast which is pretty common.  Lots of ways to combat that.  If it is on the outside, some women get dermatitis in that area which can be quite itchy.  Some women actually get eczema which is itchy in that area as well.  Shaving seems to intensify it for you.

If it is a chronic itchy problem, I would definitely see your doctor.  Then you will have a direction to go in.  But a clarification if this is on the outside of the area of inside would be helpful for the forum.

For some, periods can smell.  The scent of blood mixed with secretions in the vagina can cause this.  I would try not to worry about it too much but they do make some nice scented wipes to use on the outside of your genital area as well as they make scented tampons.  Now, I have very sensitive skin and use both of these without issue.  but that is something to keep in mind, especially if you already have an itching problem. Don't want you to break out.  My doctor gave me a tip also for when it is smelling less than fresh, a bit of antibacterial hand soap washing the outer area.

I really think at this point, you should see your doctor to determine exactly what is going on hon.  good luck and let us know what the doctor says.

Ok, so a couple different factors could be playing into your discomfort. First, you itchiness can absolutely get worse from shaving. Especially on the 2nd and 3rd days. However, if you have a lot of pubic hair, that can also be irritating. So it's a double-edged sword for itchiness sometimes. Secondly, when we get our periods, or pH fluctuates in a way that can throw off our scent. Others probably don't notice the smell, but you sure would with it being your own body. I would see your OBGYN about the smell just to be on the safe side too.
