Help!

I am looking to find out all the information that I can regarding menopause, its symptoms, treatments, etc.  I am also looking for women in my age group (I am 48 years old) that are currently going through menopause.

Hi!

Perimenopausal wasn't bad for me but the menopause is.  I have all of your symptoms as well, except I have never had a problem with the hot flashes and night sweats.  However, I am cold a lot.  I hadn't realized it until you mentioned the hot and cold sweats/flushes.  For me, going through this is just awful.  My doc put me on Zoloft and Klonopin and I have read that these are not FDA approved for menopausal symptoms.  But, I do have an appointment at the end of November with a new doctor, who is a MD and a doctor of osteopathy and to her benefit is female!  I am very hopeful that seeing her is going to help.  My husband is sometimes understanding and sometimes not.

I am grateful that you took the time to write to me.  It's really nice to be able to talk with someone who is going through the same thing.  I recently moved here to Chattanooga and don't know anyone.

Thanks so much,

Patti

Hi Patti I too am 48 and have been told i am perimenopausal.....leading up to it. If this is leading up to it then I dread when it really happens. My symptoms where do we begin
Hot and cold sweats/flushes
Not sleeping at night
Always tired
Weight gain for no appparent reason
Mood swings...hubby says not to bad at the moment
Forgettfulness
Hair thinning.
The list could go on and on.
My gp/dr has suggested to start with we try alternative meds which is what im about to do...red clover blossom and black cohosh. If after a couple of months I dont see an improvement then she is happy to put me on some form of hrt.
Please feel free to email me if you like. It really helps to know that your not the only person in the world with this going on although at times it really feels like it.
You take care.
