How long till I can exercise again after m/c

I was told not to do any streneous exercise for at least 2 weeks.  I'm anxious to do some low impact exercise, but i dont' wish to sabotage my recovery.
Does anyone have any idea what kind of work outs are ok sooner then 2 weeks, like 4 days after?  Perhaps some light weight lifting is ok?
Thank you ladies!

I wish i had your alls get up and go . I work out, but i don't enjoy it!! My friend had a MC a few weeks ago. We have gotten back to our normal workout's. She isn't still bleeding though. We do a dance routine and tae bo. She is doing fine with it. We started with the dance, but wednesday is oing to be our first heavey duty workout. i go to her house in the mornings to workout. i so sore right now from yesterday i am about to die! I wouldn't lift yet, but i don't see why cardio would hurt you. I'm not a doc. though. Sorry for your loss.

Due to accute pain and bleeding, I haven't been able to leave the house in three days.  I am anxious to get it out of my system, and walking doesn't help.  I think that's my way of releasing all these negative energy and emotions bottled up inside me.

I know how you feel....I'm going nuts.  I work out on a regular basis...cardio, step aerobics, weights.  I miscarried 9-14-06, and am still bleeding.  I have not returned to the gym in 3 weeks, and I'm dying to get back.  It is my stress release, and my morning routine back in my normal life.  I am anxious to do it again, and a brisk walk or stretching doesn't cut it.  I am ready to return to normal....but I am still bleeding (yes, my dr. is aware of this).  It probably is best to wait and follow dr. orders, as much as you can't stand it...but you are not alone!!!!!

Hi - I can understand that mentality. I have suffered a m/c nearly six years ago and have since gone on to have 3 children and am now pg with #4. I worry with every pg that I was going to m/c again. I'm so sorry for your loss by the way. I think if you are having that kind of pain it is your body's way of indicating it isn't capable of doing much physically except for what it's going through to recover. If it is the mental and psychological distraction you are really needing then those are the kinds of things you probably need to think about doing. Reading a good novel, catching up with friends for coffee or even having them over. This pain won't last and then you will be 'free' to get back to your physical regime again, but please be kind to yourself and your body through it's recovery. Take care!

Can I ask why you are so anxious to do any kind of exercise during your recovery? Are you normally someone that 'works out' a lot or exercises very regularly? Your body will not suffer if you don't get back into the exercise regime before the 2 weeks is up. I would not risk it if you have been told to wait, however, if low impact involves things like stretching exercises and yoga than this is probably a good thing. I wouldn't do anything else that involves too much cardio or weights. Your body needs it's energy for your recovery. Casual walking wouldn't be too harmful either as long as it was not for lengthy periods or too brisk. Good luck and sorry to hear about your m/c.
