I have lumps near my vulva; what are they?

I have two hard, movable pea sized lumps under the skin near my vulva. One is located to the upper left of my clitoris, and the second one is lower and on the right side. I first discovered them when I was 12 (there was only one lump back then) and the second appeared some time around last year. I'm now 16. There is no pain, but they can be an annoyance if I wear tight clothing or sit down in a particular way.

I've asked my mom on three separate occasions if I could go to a doctor to get it checked out. All times she said she would schedule an appointment, but never did. I asked her why she wouldn't take me to the doctor and she said it was because it was too expensive. I've constantly been googling my problems for the past 4 years, and I've never found exactly what it might be. Does anyone know what's wrong with me?

This gives me so much anxiety and I feel like I can't plan anything for my future because I'll just end up dying before I turn 18. It's become so bad that every time I hang out with family or friends, I end up thinking, "This will be a fun memory for them to reminisce about when I pass away." I know it's stupid, but I'm just so sick and tired of thinking this way.

If anyone can help me, I will be so grateful. Thank you.

Thank you all for your input. I honestly feel silly for being so paranoid about it. I'm going to try to work up the courage to ask to go to the doctor's again. I just feel very embarrassed about it and it's hard for me to talk about.  I really appreciate your comments!

I'm not sure what state your in or what the politics is doing lately, but if you are under 18, you should be covered by medicaid (I was able to, but that was like 8 years ago), or you should be able to walk into any women's clinic or planned parenthood to get an exam. Call and find out. Sounds like regular cysts that some people might get on their eyelid, or directly under the skin somewhere else, but i think you should be trying to get to a doctor. Best of Luck!

I was also just reading about Bartholin's gland cysts, which can be treated at home by taking a sitzbath 3 or 4 times a day (you put a few inches of water in the bathtub and sit in it a while).  You might try that.

Talk to your mother again and explain you are so worried about this that you have the feeling you are dying. She will tell you that of course you are not dying, but the point you are making to her is that it worries you so much that you have this extreme of thoughts as a result, and for that, a doctor is called for.

It sounds like a couple of cysts. If they are totally encapsulated, it's possible they won't come out on their own or fade away either. Ask the doctor.

If you have a job, begin saving your money, so your mom can't tell you it's too expensive.

Frankly, shame on her for not getting you to a doctor in all this time.
