IUD with pregnancy symptoms, but negative test....HELP???

I had an IUD put in last Jan after I had my son and every month I have a period(I call it "what's the point period") but this month it hasn't come and I have sore boobs and they feel so heavy now and i'm dischargeing clearish stuff and i'm also having mild cramps off and on. Acouple of days ago I was having ligament pulling down below my belly if I moved wrong or if I sneezed, like I did when I was pregnant with my son. I think my last period was at the beginning of Oct. Well i took a test this morning when my hubby got up for work at 5:30 and it came out negative, could it have been to soon??? Please let me know what you guys think.

Hi ladies..I like you have Mirena...I had my daughter in Spetember and had the IUD placed at the end of October. First few periods were very light and then in January it almost seemed to stop.  I was rather concerned because I was not feeling like myself...I was feeling tired sick to my tummy and a terrible back ache. So I decided to bite the bullet and call the doctor and go in. When I explained that I was concerned that I could possibly be pregnant he assured me that everything was fine. Even did I urine test in the office just to be sure. However I was not satisfied with that so I asked to have an ultrasound before I left. And I was more than relieved when I saw my IUD perfectly in place. HOWEVER I was informed that I have and extremely large cyst on my ovary and that is most likely the cause of my pain.

**** IMPORTANT IUD INFO*******

My doctor did tell me that the "pregnancy symptoms" I was having is a side effect of the IUD itself. The IUD contains the same hormones that you have while you are pregnant...over time they can begin to effect your body and cause these "symptoms" to araise. No method of BC is totally efffective unless you are not having sex ...thats what my mom always used to tell me :)

I know its hard ladies because are scared and we are the caregivers for these wonderful babies in our lives now or in our future. But just try to breathe and tell yourself if its properly placed I  have nothing to worry about. Some women opt for the copper IUD because that way they still have a period so they feel more relieved. Its a personal choice. I hope this helped someone on here :)

i have had my mirena in since September last year. My periods have never slowed down, in fact I get them so irregularly still. Sometimes I get them three days after my last periods, they are so heavy and they last longer. I am really concerned about having an IUD. Today I noticed my strings are sitting just inside, I can put my fingers in just past my nail and i feel the strings. I have been feeling more tired than usual. I smoke, and I have been pregnant once before and had to have a termination due to being too young and not being able to support the baby financially. I became of aware of being pregnant due to gagging after having a cigarette. This happened to me today, and a couple of times over the last few weeks. I also get really bad cramping a lot of the time as well.
Am really worried. Has anyone else had really irregular periods for so many months?

I have had symptoms of being pregnant for weeks now. And I have been on the mirena for almost 3 years. Never did I have them before. So I bought and took 2 pregnancy tests this past weekend. One came up Positive, one came up negative. I went to the doctor today, and sure enough I actually am pregnant, about 8 1/2 weeks. So it can happen! They say like 1 in 100. So now I need to get the mirena taken out asap because it has a 50-60% misscarriage rate if left in. 20% chance if taken out. Now I'm just praying my baby will be ok! Never again will I trust the IUD.

Oh my gosh! mine too. I live in the birth capitol of the world and the doctors just give you this look of "you seriously don't know?" when you go in for a test! It really ticks me off and is half the reason why I haven't gone in to get tested yet...

I am in the same boat, I have had the Minera IUD for 4 years come May, PP and the last 3 weeks my breast have my super sore, tired, crampy feeling in my lower stomach, and vomitting from time to time. I took 3 pregnancy tests and they all say negative. My breasts today are the sorest they have ever been. My best friend who I live with just found out she is pregnant, maybe sympathy pregnancy... lol But I am really scared that I am, and the doctors where I live treat you like a idiot if you go to them to find out if you are. :S
