If your HCG numbers are low but still doubling is there a problem?

Hi everyone,
I am supposed to be around 6weeks when I took my last HCG count according to my LMP 7/19 but Sept 5 I got my HCG done and it was only 542.6. I mean it rose from 296.2 a couple of days before but isnt that low?  Does anyone know??

Every woman and pregnancy is different the fact that your lavels are doubling is a VERY GOOD sign and they also could be low because you are not as far along as you think. were you charting your temps or anything like that? i am assuming you were ttc, the sperm can live for up to 5 days (i have also heard 7 days) it may have been fertilized later then you think. But like i said it looks good!!

See thats what I think too. No I wasnt TTC. It just happend. So you are right im not sure when I concieved. All I have to go by is my LMP.  That was one of the docs theories that I may have concieved later than I thought!

My numbers went from 305 to 750 right around the week 5 marker. I was curious about them being low as well, the Dr. said they are more concerned about them doubling. I am now 19wks, 5d and we just found out I am having another boy and everything looks good.
