staph infection question

Hello... I have what I believe may be a slightly unusual question.  I was diagnosed with a staph infection of the throat (white blotches on throat) after performing oral sex on a man last summer.  The infection pretty much cleared after a couple of courses of antibiotics and a few months time.  I've heard that these infections can be recurrent, however, and was wondering if there is any chance of me passing this on to my current partner?
Thank you!
