Infected ears for 3 months now...

I got my ears pierced for the first time about 3 months ago, and my right ear seems to be healing okay, but the left ear is horrible. It's pussing white stuff, crustys are sticking to my earings... Since Christmas I've been wearing earings other than the ones that I'm supposed to keep in, and there hasnt been a problem, except yesterday I wore these heavy chandalear earings that hurt real bad. :-( But everythings okay. Sometimes when I change earings, they bleed. It's been 3 months... why are they still infected? Shouldnt it go away? I had my nose and my tongue pierced no problem with infections. I dont understand why my ears are rejecting. I absolutely wont take them out, but there HAS to be SOMETHING I can do. I clean them pretty good  depending on the condition... Bad-alcohol, okay-peroxide, and better-anticeptic.
So, what should I do about my ears???

I also agree with the Bactine, or Johnson and Johnson makes a simular product that my sis-in-law swears by after using it on an eyebrow piercing that got all funky and infected.
I also wanted to remind you to TURN them. Constantly. My daughter had to have a post type earring surgically removed. It had become inbedded and the skin grew over the top of it. It happened in a matter of two days when she was sick and forgot to turn them alot.
It may all clear up after the baby girl is born. If it is too much to deal with on top of being pregnant, then maybe try again after she arrives.

I have one ear that is very sensitive and another with no problems. I always have to make sure that I put in something that is either real gold or silver ( not plated) or something for sensitive ears. I would recommend that for a few months you wear studs and keep them in for awile.  I noticed that if they irritated and I left my earrings in, in a week it would go away. I would wait awhile to put in anything that is heavy and dangly you don't want it to get caught on something.

Definitely use the Bactine liquid the other poster recommended! It's great... I just put some on a QTip & rub it on with earrings that are irritating & it helps out.

Also, only use sterling silver or 14K gold & up - I had a similar problem with "fake" earrings & when I only used sterling it was OK...

Hope this helps if you're still having trouble. One ear may be more sensitive and also more infected but you won't have an allergy in one ear and not the other. You can have a sensitivity to a certain metal (gold is common) on your neck and face, but not your wrists. Surgical stainless (like your other body jewelry probably are)is the way to go when having problems if you can find something you'll wear.

Use Bactine brand antiseptic which also has a pain reliever. It's the best for all body piercings, stay away from alcohol and peroxide! You should also see a doctor, anitbiotics can help clear infection while you keep them (extremely) clean. I would recommend finding a basic pair of earrings you can live with and stop changing them out until they heal completely, even if it seems to be taking longer than it should. Sometimes it takes longer but you need them to heal before irritating them more by changing them out.

I had my ears pierced around age 10 and when I was about 19 every time I put in a pair my ears would get red and swollen. It was mainly worse when I changed pairs (expensive or not). I ended up getting 14 gauge surgical stainless barbells put in and left them in for about 4 years. When I got pregnant with my daughter I took them out and now I can wear any kind of earrings I want with NO problems at all. Human bodies are strange. Good luck.

Try placing moist chamomille tea bags on your earlobes for a few minutes every day.  It speeds healing and decreases inflammation.  It worked great on my navel piercing.

I had my ears pierced the "old fashioned way" with a needle and an ice cube when I was 4 years old. They are still pierced today but I am unable to wear earrings now and have not been able to since I became pregnant the first time over 17 years ago. The funny thing about it is that the first baby and all of them since are also allergic and unable to wear earrings. My oldest daughter has had hers pierced like 3 times now but they always close up becasue she cannot stand the pain of the earrings and always takes them out. The infections are really bad but mainly in one ear and is the same for each of the kids that have had piercings. I don't know what it means, it is really odd but listen to your body. If it says no way, then take them out. Or maybe see a Dermatologist and see what he/she says.. I WISH so much that I could wear them again. I am not a jewelry person, just my wedding bands and a watch. But I DID love to wear earrings once upon a time..

Yeah, they're pierced in the lobes. Could it be possible to have an allergy in one ear and not the other? if I have a metal allergy, wouldnt my nose and my tongue reject the piercings I had previousely?

Im allergic to certain types of earrings.  I always buy earrings 4 sensitive ears & that seems to help. Some people are just allergic & cant wear earrings at all.  Make sure you keep them clean & ur hair away from them, the oils can irritate them.  Also stay away from cheap earrings!

where are your ears pierced? Is it in the regular place where ppl normally get their ears pierced or on top where the cartilage is? I know that I pierced my ears twice where the cartilage is and nothing I tried help them get cured. I was constantly in pain -- I went thru hell with them, everytime I combed my hair, my hair would get tangled in it, I would bang the phone into it...it was awful...I really like the way it looked though so I didnt want to take them out but I preferred not have any infection or pain!!
