Irregular Periods? Please answer!

I have had an irregular period since I was 18.. Don't know why though, but I have a period every 3months.. What do I have to do to regulate my periods again? Eating health (that I've read online) doesn't regulate my period due to me already eating healthy. Does birth control regulate periods? If not what does? Do I have to get a pelvic exam to regulate my periods because I'm quite terrified of getting one lol

Absolutely. I wanted to add that you really need to go to the doctor first, because it might be a serious illness like PCOS.

You need to be tested for hormonal imbalance and need to get an ultrasound done to know the reason of irregular period.Sometimes there is a small change is required to normalize your period so nothing to worry about. As far as pelvic exam is concerned it takes less than 1 minute and you wont feel any pain just a bit of discomfort .

Hi,
i'm 17 years old and also had an irregular period. I ate absolutely healthfully and exercised as well (biking, swimming, dancing, zumba), took birth control pills after i got a pelvic exam, but nothing worked. I lived quite stressfully that time, and my girlfriend recommended me hatha yoga for calming down and relaxing. It really helped, and I don't know why, but since i'm doing yoga, my period became regular again! o.o
I did some research on the internet though, and I found out that stress can cause serious hormonal problems.
So if you have a stressful life too, I would recommend yoga. I don't really used to believe in these kind of stuff, but it worked for me, and it's easy and free, there are tons of hatha yoga videos on youtube you can follow.
I hope I could help you! And sorry for my English, I'm from Eastern Europe.
