Irregular periods,Can i get pregnant

I have always had irregular periods since I started having one.  I started my first period when I was 9 years old, I am now 22 years of age.  I just had my period for the first time in 1 years about a week ago and it last 7 days.  Normally when I have a cycle it last for about 3-4 days and I get them 2-3 times a year.  Long story short, after my period I had unprotected sex, can i get pregnant with a very irregular period?  My doctor knows that I haven't had a period and she hasn't done anything about it or even recommended anything.

Yes it is possible.  You only need to ovulate to get pregnant.  Do you know whether you are ovulating?

The problem with only have 2-3 periods a year is that there is generally much less chance of getting pregnant.

Do you have a cause for your irregular periods?  It might be worth investigating this.
