Is it normal for your period to be irregular?

•I started my period when I was 10
•I'll be 14 soon
•I was pretty consistent and regular until almost a year-ish ago, around Oct 2015
•I got my Sept period, but didn't get my period again until April 2016
•My period has been abnormally light and inconsistent
•Help me please? Is it normal and should I just relax and wait?
