Itchy vagina and multiple swollen bumps/glands on labium majus

I started off with a small painful pimple on the right side at the top opening of my vagina not too far from the clit. It was itchy, painful and pus filled.
Whilst I was only concerned about this, I accidentally discovered a much bigger and more painful bump on the lower outer lip of the vagina (left side) while wiping the pee off. I don't know how long it had been there.
The small pimple had an opening so I drained it and it disappeared but the bump/gland kept enlarging and the pain increased.  I started using hot compresses but now,  4days later, my entire left vaginal lip is so swollen and I'd be limping were I alone because even my left thigh is now in agony.

To my most dismay, it appears and feels when I touch that the enlarging bump/gland has developed into 3/4 more and the pain is unbearable. My undee line hurts too.
Yesterday morning, I decided to soak cotton in greek yogurt and insert it in for a few hours and by the afternoon, my vagina started itching and tingling. I'm feeling hot in there too and I don't know what to do.

Please help with the following;

1.  Are these a cause of an infection?  (I had similar bumps on both sides 16 years ago after the delivery of my first born and these had to be sliced 2weeks after delivery).  According to the Gyna whatever I had then had to be urgently removed and I was put under a general anesthesia and underwent what seemed to have been a 2hrs surgery. I have also suffered bouts of yeast infections since i can't remember but the last time was in September 2013 and I'm worried.

What must I do to reduce the pain outside and the itching and burning inside?

Am I infectious, (not that I can even handle sex with this pain)

Thank you in advance

We really should not be messing with, opening, etc. these things ourselves because they can indeed become infected.  Remember when things are trying to heal, they often itch (like scabs do, for example).  You should see a doctor to have this looked at.  good luck
