Gas, the baby is way to teeny tiny to feel at this time.
If you are exactly 5 weeks, then it's likely the heart has not even begun to beat. Feeling movement this early is impossible.
Yes, gas can definitely have a thump feeling, exactly like early fetal movement.
Your timing would have to be WAY off for you to be feeling kicks. This is my fifth child. It has been 8 years since my last. I am 14w1d and I have not felt any kicks yet.
So my question is, does gas fell like a "mild thump"? Or could it be that my timing is off and I am further along
I agree that it's not baby kicking. I have 3 children to date-- 20 1/2 months between first two and 23 1/2 mos between the last two.
An ultrasound technician said it's impossible to feel movement that early because the baby is so small that any movement it may make would not register through the layers of body tissue between it and you.
On my third, I actually felt movement the earliest at about 13/14 weeks because he liked to hang out really low in my pelvis. I didn't feel him moving higher in the uterus until closer to 18 weeks.
Hope that helps.
P.S. - my gas bubbles always felt like early fetal movements.
If you are only 5 weeks along then it's not the baby you are feeling. It's probably just gas. You probably won't feel the baby move till you are closer to 18-22 weeks or sometimes longer. sinse it's your 3rd baby then you will probably feel the baby a little sooner. But not this early.
