Tampons at 3 1/2 weeks PP?

So my son is just over 3 weeks old and I stopped bleeding last week after my vaginal delivery. Today AF showed up, can I wear a tampon??? I hate pads with everything I have.

I have not done any heavy lifting, DH has been making sure of that. The heaviest thing I can lift is our baby. I can't even bring laundry downstairs.

I guess I will just stick it out with pads for now. They are just so uncomfortable is all.

I was told not to stick anything in my vagina for at least 6 weeks including tampons

This is probably not your period,  and no,  you shouldn't use tampons for post partum bleeding.

Sorry,  having babies is messy business.  :(  If you have any questions,  call your doctor's office and talk to a nurse in the morning,  but at this time you will just further aggravate things if you use a tampon.

Have you overextended yourself,  and lifted heavy things in the last day or so?  That will cause post partum bleeding to resume.
