Have any of the above posters resolved their issues??? I have been having inflammation, pain, and the skin around the opening of my vagina is white for about 10 months now. I have been told I "might" have inflammatory vaginitis, vulvodynia, or Lichen Sclerosis. I have been tested for bacteria, yeast, parasites, and all std's (all negative). I've been to three gynocologists and no one can determine what is wrong with me. I am seeing another specialist next week. I am really hoping he can properly diagnose and treat me. In the meantime I am searching online and talking to other women w/ similar problems. Please let me know how your current situation is and please tell me what has helped you. Thanks!
how was the diagnosis made?? did you have a biosy?? Is the steroid cream working at all??
Sorry for so many questions, i am currently awaiting bioppsy results for what might be lichen sclerosis too. I am also on steroid creams to no affect. I havent heard anything on hormonal therapy, so keep me posted!!! I will also let you know when i get result, if lichen sclerosis, what they suggest. I have been told
1. no tight clothing
2. use soap substitutes ( see your doctor)
3. Try a different washing powder
4. DO NOT USE BUBBLE BATH OR SHOWER GEL
5. try to avoid scratching (YEH RIGHT!!!)
6. use only cotton underwear
7. dont dry area with towel after bathing (try a cool hairdryer) i know, sounds mad!!!
I am aware you probably have heard these suggestions, but just incase any of them are new to you, its worth a try...hopefully.
Keep me poste, i wish you all the best.
