Lump in breasts

I'm 18 and I have lump in both my breasts and I've had it since I was 14 or 15 but I left it unchecked because I was scared. I had no pain, redness or swollen. It looks completely normal. Just just that I feel that it has been growing since the past years. What do you think it is?

There are numerous things that can cause a lump in the breast. These can be regular breast tissue, cyst (fluid-filled lumps), inflamed lymph nodes/milk duct, benign tumors, and a cancerous tumor. Honestly the first two are the most likely and common. If your breast have always been lumpy, they may just be lumpy- nothing wrong with them. Personally mine are extremely lumpy and lopsided- but the tissues are normal so nothing is wrong with them.

Some things that do need to be watched are changes. Do they look different? Do they feel different? Look at your breasts in the mirror- so if your nipples one day go from out to in, or weird patches of skin come up, or an odd lump/shadow forms when you look at your breasts. If anything looks different you need to talk your dr, but no freak outs because most things are benign. If you start feeling sensations such as pulling/stretching, burning, extreme itching, or pain this is also something to bring up with your dr. Also if you feel a change in texture- (lumps) that is something to bring up with a dr.

Basically you're probably fine, but that's no reason to avoid a dr. They can help you know what feels normal and help give you info on what to watch out for. Also it's important to not be afraid to know something. If something is serious and it is ignored ... by the time you get the guts to get it looked at it could be too late.

No problem. Just remember- it's good to be cautious, but no reason to freak out at the slightest change. You're still young so still going through changes and will continue to change over time. good luck!

Thank you so much for your help. Actually I've decided to open this up to my mum by next week. I have faith that everything will be normal because I don't have any of the symptoms you listed. Thanks a lot and God bless you always!!
