Ah.........going out of town and having sex in a different location is totally irrelevant. You used a condom and you would know, for sure, if it broke. Why you got sick upon your return was probably just due to a change in diet, or perhaps something didn't agree with you. It certainly has nothing to do with pregnancy.
I did jump the gun a little by stating that you don't have periods when you're pregnant. Some women do. And some women spot. But the vast majority of us don't.
If you did a pregnancy test, even if you were bleeding, it WOULD show as either negative or positive. The tests check your urine for certain protiens and enzymes that are present only when we are pregnant. You don't have to wait.
As for advising you on the "safe" days to have sex, I would definitely recommend you see an OB/GYN for that. You have to learn about your basal temperature and take it every day and chart it and make graphs.......I've never used that method, but I think it's terribly complicated, not very reliable and takes all the fun and spontaneity out of sex.
Unless there is a religious issue involved, why not get on the pill or have an IUD placed?
I think a good long chat with your gyno might really help you.

Are you trying to get pregnant? You can only get pregnant when you ovulate. If you are trying to get to pregnant you should have sex every other day leading up to ovulation and a few days after just in case you ovulate late. If you are not trying to get pregnant then you should avoid those days. Also if you are Sure the condom didn't break then you won't be pregnant.

I was going to ask if you meant unprotected? Like Lydia said if you had protected sex used a condom and got your period I don't think there is a chance you could be pregnant

If you had protected sex and the condom did not break, it's very safe to assume you are NOT pregnant.

Our periods play games with us all the time. The point here is that you got a period, even if it was approximately one week earlier than usual. When you're pregnant, it is incredibly rare to get a period.

Take a home pregnancy test if you're freaking out, but it will be negative.
