Maybe just an Ovarian Cyst??

The date I started my last period was on 3/25/07.  Just 2 weeks after that I started having severe muenstral cramps and severe lower back pain.  I thought I was going to get my period again.  Almost a week later-no bleeding.  If I stay hydrated I have the constant urge to urinate and feel pressure in my bladder and pelvic area,I thought maybe it was a kidney infection-yet no bleeding in urine or burning/tingling sensation.  a little worried, last Thurs I went to my OB/GYN.  During the pelvic exam my GYN noticed that I was constipated (sensitivity to my entire abdomen), and that my uterus is enlarged/swollen.  It was very uncomfortable to have the pelvic exam done. She scheduled me for a pelvic ultrasound (i go tomorrow).  My pain comes and goes-at times I feel really weak and lots of pain in my pelvic area (so bad it's hard to walk around).  The weird thing is that when I eat, I can't eat much before I am full-and then I become EXTREMELY bloated and feel more pressure in my pelvic area, and still constipated. Maybe it is just a cyst?  I didn't think that a cyst would cause this much pain!  And, would a cyst cause so many other complications, like the issues in my abdomen?  I am a little scared just because I read so many horror stories about doctors misdiagnosing ovarian cancer-and it's difficult to even bring up to the dr.  I have had 1 child and I am also only 28 years old. So I should fall into a lower-risk to OVC-right?!  Will my dr be able to tell if I have cancerous cells from a pap?  How do they even catch it?

At your age, you are not in a high-risk category for the worst case scenario. It doesn't sound symptomatic of ovarian cysts (or ovarian cancer, for that matter) but my sister-in-law had a fibroid the size of a grapefruit and had symptoms like yours. Once she was diagnosed and had it removed, she has had no further problems.

Have you been investigated for fibroids?

No-I only had a pap and pelvic exam done-I go in for an ultrasound tomorrow.  Is that something that they will remove quickly.  I just want the pain and ill feeling to be gone.  It's been almost 2 weeks and it doesn't seem to get better by the day.
