sore that won't heal

I have a small sore that starts out itchy and becomes scabbed over. It is really quite tender. It lasts about a week or two but comes back a couple weeks or a month later. Sometimes the base of my clitoris get a pimple like bump on it as well and sometimes scabs as well. This started some time ago. I am 39 years old, in a monogamous relationship, and have no history of sexual disease. I have even been tested some time back. I do sometimes tan in the nude in a tanning bed and was wondering if it could be skin cancer. I don't tan often maybe get a 10 visit package and don't always tan in the nude so there really is not alot of exposure.

i just posted in another area- you can get herpes on your genitals if your partner has a cold sore and you have oral sex.  There are 2 types of herpes and they can be passed back and forth.  So many people have cold sores and don't think anything of it.  He could have had one and passed it your genitals...It happened to me.  I was ready to beat the **** out of him when i test positive for herpes... but them my dr. explained it to me - he did have a cold sore the day after we had fooled around - and he was off the hook.  A mother can pass herpes to their baby by having it pass through her vagina... it is such an odd thing that I really feel isn't talked about enough.  a sold sore seems acceptable to have, but basically its just the same thing that you get on your genitals just a different strand of the virus.
