My period is one month late

Hi,

I have a HUGE concern. My period is one month late! I'm 17 years old, but my period is usually on time every month. I have never experienced something similar. I only remember that I was once ten days late, but it "arrived" after that.
I was supposed to be on my period around February 4, but it's March 1 and still nothing. I have a few ideas about that.
1. On January 28, I fell and my hand inflamed. I started to take ibuprofen (approx. 2 pills a day, 400 mg each) since then. After that, I got a cold and started a so-called treatment on my own. I was taking Brufen and Nurofen in the morning and afternoon, then Brufen + Codamin at night. I followed the "treatment" for more than a week, maybe two weeks. Then I stopped. I also took some Mucosin syrup (once or twice), Vibrocil (I took it twice per day, once in the morning and once before going to bed) and Bioparox for my sore throat.
2. My boyfriend had something that looked like candida after he took all possible medications for treating his cold. He started to develop itching, redness, a sort of white discharge and some things that looked like notches on his penis. He didn't take any medication, but he kept cleaning the area with peroxide and everything seemed better. He hasn't anything now. We hadn't had intercourse during this time - maybe once, before he started to develop those symptoms. He also took Zinnat for a few days (three, I remember), and he is also taking some... steroids... He told me that he had something similar in his mouth (a sort of candida) before getting cold.
I didn't have any symptoms of candida or fungal infection, and since my boyfriend is fine now, I don't think that was what he suffered from.
3. I was VERY stressed from January 28 to ~February 3, but that happened to me before and my period still came.

There is NO risk of being pregnant. I had sex ONLY with my boyfriend and he never... you know, inside. I read that the colorless liquid that forms at the tip of the penis during/before (not sure) the intercourse contains spermatozoons, but I'm not sure either.
I had many cramps, like my period was about to come. However, nothing showed up. Furthermore, I didn't have any candida symptom: no itching, redness, discharge...
I didn't lose any weight I think, I ate well, everything was kind of normal. I lost about two nights of sleeping when my boyfriend was sick, he couldn't sleep...
Aside from ibuprofen and paracetamol (Codamin), I didn't take anything else. Ah, by the way, I think I'm kind of constipated, but I'm not sure either. I mean, after my boyfriend started to develop those candida symptoms, I started to be constipated, as I have a bowel movement every 2-3 days (maybe more).
Also, I had some acne, which happens to me before the period. And no symptom *down there*. And I have never taken the *pills*, if you know that I'm talking about.

What do you think it might be? I know I'm not pregnant, or at least, I'm 99.9% sure. My period is supposed to come on 4-5 March, but what if it doesn't show up? I have no symptoms, and I usually have cramps before it arrives. This didn't happened to me before. NEVER.

Please help me as soon as possible. I'm really desperate. I am thinking about a hormonal disorder, or maybe an ovarian cold... or ovarian cyst, why not. But I don't have ANY symptoms. And the risk of STD is 0.1%, because I always fear the infections, bacteria, viruses from public toilets.
Ah, I forgot to mention that I had intercourse with my boyfriend every day from January 30 until the first night when he couldn't sleep (we live together). My period happens to be late if I have intercourse before, but no more than 2-3 days. I thought that might be the cause, but one month... It's too much!

Help me, please. Any hormonal treatment will be welcome, I don't really want to consult a doctor... I wouldn't even know what to say. I'm really confused.

Nota Bene: I remarked a vaginal white discharge (which might be probably colorless, but it seems white) on the toilet paper. It doesn't seem to have the cheesy texture of Candida discharge, it doesn't have smell. Actually, it looks like the discharge that comes with my orgasm. And looks very much alike. But it isn't always there. And I don't think that I have ever had Candida, even though my boyfriend did. I'm REALLY CONFUSED!

PLEASE ANSWER AS FAST AS POSSIBLE!!!

This is old but i cant help after reading all the ********......Im not sure how may people that posted an answer here are or were above 15 but ok..... first of all it has been proved that precum contains no or dead sperm and u will not get pregnant, precum is a liquid that cleans the way for the sperm thats about to follow when u ejaculate. You CANT get pregnant with precum. There is a way , if you are up to sex again (round 2) and he just cleaned his penis on the outside and didnt peed, only squeezed the *** out as much as he could, if he precums during sex , the liquid can wash away the remaining sperm inside the canal into you, thats the only way precum can get you pregnant. Happy to hear it was false alarm tho :). And again, if he pulls out u cant get pregnant unless he cums on your vagina and the sperm seeps in, just keep tissues at hand always to clean up the sperm right away and dont let it drip down ur body. Dont listen to the first comment ,but in case ur afraid u can have sex to the point ur close to orgasm and then use condom at the very last minute and *** then :)

Hi there.  This is an old post hon.  Better to start your thread which you will see at the top of this page (Ask a Question).  If you are sexually active and missed a period, you need to take a test. That is the only way to know if you are pregnant or not. good luck

You should start using condoms because precum can still get you pregnant. Also if you're afraid to talk to your mother about getting birth control then you can tell her that your periods are very irregular and that you want to talk to the doctor about it. The doctor will suggest birth control pills or some other form of birth control and it would protect you from becoming pregnant and help regulate your cycle. That way you won't have to tell your mom you are having sex but you will be protected and getting pregnant would be a lot worse than having to go see your doctor

Whoever told you that the clear liquid(precum) didn't contain sperm was wrong. It doesn't contain a large amount of sperm but you can definitely still get pregnant it only takes one sperm.
You should take a test right away to find out if you are pregnant or not. If you aren't then I suggest that you start using condoms and get on a reliable source of birth control.
Also having sex while the other person can transmit infections especially yeast related ones and Candida is a yeast. Please please please DON'T take advice from friends about sex and pregnancy prevention and go to a reliable source like your doctor or other health professional.

Well, you've been having a lot of sex with your boyfriend so I suggest you take a pregnancy test just to rule it out at this point. I'm not sure why that wouldn't have been your first step cause that's what I would've done. Anyway, if you aren't pregnant then I wouldn't worry about it unless you miss your next one. You're only 17 so irregular periods are nothing unusual. Kids your age take some time to really settle into a firm schedule.

Definitely get a pregnancy test though. I'm not saying you're pregnant but I'm saying that is a possible reason that you're not having a period.

Hi there.  First, to clarify, if he puts his penis inside you and you are having sex even if he pulls out, you can get pregnant.  Pull and pray does not work and many children are here on earth because of such activity by their parents.  So, condoms and reliable birth control on your part is the only way to truly prevent pregnancy.  Pull and pray does not work.  that clear liquid indeed does have sperm in it.

However, you also mention many other things known to delay a period.  Losing and gaining weight, stress, illness, change all can play a role.  Even a simple change in schedule.  Hormones can get out of whack for all of those reasons and really don't need a reason at all to be off for a period.

I would take a home pregnancy test to be sure but then wait to see if it shows up.  If it doesn't and you go a second month with no period, then call your doctor for a pap and exam.  I was three months late and then my period was consistently every 3 to 4 months due to a thyroid issue when I was in my 20's.  It took a bit of time to figure out what was going on.  so, if you continue to be late, see your doctor.

good luck
