Shakey, faint, irritable and a terrible headache if I havent eaten? Is this normal?

I noticed this occurring about two years ago, but I thought nothing of it until it happened again yesterday evening. I hadn't ate since breakfast and I began to feel very shaky, faint, irritable and had a massive headache. The symptoms died down quite a bit after I had eaten but not all the way. I could still faintly feel it this morning until i ate breakfast. After that i was fine. Is this normal? Does anyone else have such symptoms when hungry?
