Ovulation problems

Is it possible to ovulate twice in one month?  If so, would
that effect the first day of your next period?  I am 5-6 days
late.  I took a HPT and it came back negative.  Any suggestions?
I would appreciate your comments

Hi there,
If you ovulate at two different times in one month, it's usually within just a couple days of each other  Therefore it does not really affect the start date of your period.

You can ovulate twice but it is within 24 hours of one another.

I forgot to mention I took an ovulation test at the beginning
of the month and got a positive result. I took another
starting the 16th of this month and again got a positive
result.  Also, I've been noticing some groin pain on my
left side and a little pain in my left ovary.  Has anyone
else experienced this?
