Veryyy scared!!

Ok I made a post earlier today about having pain in my lower abdomen.  This all started about a week ago, I noticed the other day that my stool is dark in color almost black.  Sorry for being gross but I am scarred!  The discoloring of my stool went away after about a day.  Now I just went to the bathroom and noticed it again.  What can be wrong with me?  I dont know if i am just scaring myself or what, but I need some advise asap!  I am going to the doctor on my way home today, but I would like someone's opinion asap to help put my mind at ease please!! thanks
Dani

I would ABSOLUTELY have your Gallbladder and Liver checked. I had a very similar problem with stool discoloration and found out that my gallbladder was only functioning at 20%!!!!! I ended up having it removed and all my pain and discoloration was gone after the surgery.
Also, If you have had a child within the last year...gallbladder problems are VERY common. I am in the medical field and have seen many cases of this!! You should go see your Fam DR!!

By the way....Don't freak out, gallbladder problems are very rarely life threatening. Keep positive and it will be fine. God bless

Black stool is a sign of iron deficency or internal bleeding. you need to have it checked out soon.

i certainly dont want to make light of your situation but eating chocolate (cakes, brownies, cany etc..) can make you stools black. other than that, it does sound as if you have a seperate issue going on as well.
