Pelvic Ultrasound on October 26 . Help understanding it ?

Transvaginal and TV examination done
Thee uterus measures 108 x 50 x 60 mm with multiple calcified fibroids with the largest one at 29mm in fundal, 18mm in anterior body, and 14mm in posterior body of the uterus

Combined endometrial thickness measures 10mm with heterogeneous ultrasound texture with trace fluid in fundal endometrial cavity outlining a 9 x 3mm echogenic nodule with no abnormal vasularity on doppler flow image.

Right and left ovaries measure 34 x 21 and 29 x 18 mm.

There is no adnexal mass.

Trace free fluid in cup de sac is within normal limits.

OPINION:

1. Small calcified fibroids measuring up to 29mm in maximal diameter, nio significant change from August 2014.

2.  New trace fluid in fundal endometrial cavity outlining a poorly defined heterogeneous 9mm maximal diameter echogenic density not seen on precious examination.  the appearance is non-specific.  It may be related to blood and clot in fundal endometrial cavity in keeping with menstral history of LMP of October 26.  However, follow-up is advised.

Suggest repeat TV examination in six weeks

Yes.....I  was in pain and have been having ovarian cysts come and go.

I am glad i took out the fibroid because the bleeding was horrific.

The embolization in 2009 worked for a little....but it didn't shrink much......so I ended up doing the Laparatomy to only remove the large fibroid because I wanted to keep my uterus and ovaries.

From what I've heard, Fluid in the cavity usually means you had an ovarian cyst which recently burst. Have you had any pain or other symptoms?

I also had a large fibroid removed by laprotomy. That was not fun. However I'm glad I did because it took care of the bleeding. If the embolization doesn't work did your doctor tell you that you would need another surgery?

January 31, 2014 , I removed a 9cm fibroid.

I did a laparatomy (bikini  incision).

February 2009 I had a embolization and the large fibroid did not shrink much.

Is the fluid in fundal cavity a bad thing ?

Sounds like you have several fibroids. That stinks, I know how that goes. Are you having heavy bleeding? Is that why you got the ultrasound? What did your doctor say? What's the recommendation?
