Good luck with the doc! If all it was is a fluid-filled cyst that is now draining or drained, the doctor won't be too worried for you, that's the good news. The bad news is that it probably will recur about once every couple of years. It's not considered a medical problem unless one has been going on without draining for several months and you just can't handle the pain.
I woke up today feeling a lot better...now it just sorta feels like a dull ache. However I have still made a doctors appt for monday, to address this issue so it does NOT repeat itself. I was also informed by my mother that She has Ovarian cysts and she described the pain she felt every month b4 her menstrual cycle, as exactly what I was feeling. She also said it IS hereditary, and I may have taken after her in a LOT more ways than we thought! thanks for your consideration and help annie
Sometimes the spot where the egg came out closes on itself and fills with fluid. If the fluid can't get out, it keeps filling, and that does hurt after a month or so. I have had these several times. They can resolve themselves, or sometimes they need to be addressed by a doctor (either by prescribing birth-control pills or in more extreme cases, draining them with a needle). Generally if it is an ovarian cyst, the pain will go away (temporarily) if you get in a hot bath. You can also try putting a hot-water bottle on the spot, or a heating pad, or you can also try deep massage. If none of this helps, go see your ob-gyn and tell them what is going on. Good luck!
Is it suppose to hurt this badly? I dont have my period right now. I cant even bend over, and its hard to sit up. I've never experienced this b4, it just doesnt feel normal. I think I'd know if I'd felt it b4.
Don't be scared, honey, it's just your ovulation. There is a phenomenon called "mittleschmertz" (I hope I have not too badly mangled the spelling) that simply means "middle pain" and refers to this. When the egg pops out of the ovary, it can hurt. You can tell it was ovulation when the mucous gets very clear, very sticky (holds together to itself like egg white) and pretty copious for a couple of days. Together your mittleschmertz and your mucous indicate ovulation as clearly as if your body sounded a gong. :)
What you might do is keep track of what day this happened for you in relation to your period. Usually it's around day 14 after your flow began, but some women's differ a lot from that norm. It will be helpful information for you to know if you ovulate right exactly in the middle of your cycle or not, when you finally decide to try to get pregnant.
All the best, and don't worry! You are a normal functioning female, and good for you! :)
