Period and Ovulation

by zoemorgan, Jun 01, 2006 12:00AM
Is it possible to skip your period one month, but still ovulate before your next period?

For instance, have a period in March, skip April- but still ovulate as if you had a period in April.

I'm a little confused by your question, but I think the answer is "yes".  You can be regular and still skip a month.  But, if you did skip a month you probably did not O that cycle.

Okay, my last period was March 22nd.  I normally have a 34 day cycle.  So, on April 26th, I should have had my next period, but I didn't.  So, I tested and was not pregnant.  I waited until May and had a blood test- still negative.  Since I was not experiencing any other symptoms of pregnancy, I didn't think to much of it.

I figured my cycles were just messed up and scheduled an appointment for June 14th.  However, assuming I would have had my regular period in April, the next one should have come on May 30th.   So, beginning this week (when I would have had my period) I began experiencing several symptoms of Pregnancy- as if I had ovulated in May.  I am now exhausted, running to the bathroom every other minute, leg cramps, sore breasts, etc.

I am just wondering if that is even possible to have ovulated in May when I had skipped the period before that.

THANKS!!

OK, I get it now.  Yes, you may have Oed in May, but probably not April.  Best to take an HPT to be certain. I hope everything works out the way you want.
