Weight gain and acne, no period.

Hi there,

I am a 29 year old female  - and about 7 months ago I stopped using Nuvaring. I already had a bit of adult acne and some weight gain before I stopped, but after I stopped the acne went a little crazy - on the lower half of my face and my neck. It has also been a bit over 6 months since I've had a period, which is beginning to freak me out. I had a low thyroid for a while (about a month after I stopped the nuvaring), that I took meds for, and apparently (according to a blood test) that has evened out now so I'm not on meds for that anymore. Sorry if the timeline is a bit muddled, it's all been a bit of a blur.

It's also been around 4 months since I've started having a chronic digestive/acid reflux problem - which has no clear cause and now I'm taking meds for which only partially work (probiotics seem to help more than the prescribed PPI drug).

I guess my question is - what the hell is going on? :P I'm only partly joking, I really don't know what's happening with my health, and I've been to quite a few doctors and no one seems be able to tell me definitively what is wrong or to cure my symptoms. I'm wondering if stopping the Nuvaring has caused my body to go a little haywire.

I really have had a jumble of problems, and I've tried to get help, but I'm not good with communicating with doctors, and getting my problems across - and appointments are usually so short. I was writing this, in the hopes that someone might have a guess about what's happening with me, or some suggestions about what to do or what kind of doctor to see. I don't know if maybe all these things are connected.

*side note: My sister has a long history of odd medical problems too - including IBS and PCOS. I don't know if that could mean the same for me (though the GI doc said I don't have IBS).

Any suggestions or info would be very welcome, thank you !
