Please Read - Urgent - Vagina Odour Question.

I am aware there are quite a few topics on this, but I can't find my answer in any of them, even if I post in there.
Can someone please help me out here? As it's stressing me out and making me quite ill.
I am 20 year's old and I am a virgin.

I have a boyfriend living in London, and we are in love and would like to take things further, but I notice I have this smell and it's one of my biggest worries. Everyday I worry about it. I am too embarrased to go to the doctors, but if it can be treated with antibiotics, I guess I should try. I change my underwear everyday and shower everyday, and the smell is still there. It's really stressing me out, worrying about when I have sex that it's really going to smell, that's why I avoid it.
I heard yoghurt works... And my mum said that a certain yoghurt smeared on your vagina is supposed to work, but I'm not sure, I have only heard of eating it.

And what if you don't like yoghurt? I havn't eaten that for ages, I'm a fussy eater and don't eat many things. I don't drink milk alone, eat cream and even butter.

Is there anything you can bathe in to help?

Or would going to the doctors be the only option?
I am also overweight, but I am on a diet, I am eating healthily and drinking around 4 Litres of water a day. And I am excercising by horse riding, I own 7 horses, so seeing to them is what's also helping, and I try excercises in my room.

It's hard for some people to lose weight, I guess that's metabolism, but still.

I'm aware this can be a cause, but would it still *Hopefully* clear up if I got medication from the doctor?

I really want to get rid of this problem, because I'm having basically what everyone else is having.

Like for instance, if I wear black underwear, I get white or yellowish matks, and when their washed, it stays in and turns like a brownish colour (In my underwear)

It would be a whole weight taken off my shoulders if I were to get rid of this problem.

Especially before meeting my boyfriend, I have a friend who's asked me to go up to London soon and I am now stressing and panicking about it, because it's a huge oppurtunity to meet up with my guy, and all I can think about is this problem, I don't think the weight bothers me all that much, it's just the smell and everything.
Ok, so I finally talked to my mum about it...

It was really embarrasing too, and I'm finding it difficult to communicate with her now.

I told her my problem, and said can I go to the doctors, but she said they would want to do an examination.

I'm a VERY shy girl, and I just can't show the doctor my vagina. That's just embarrasing... Even if it is a woman, I just can't do that.

Is this true?

I thought you'd just tell them what you are expieriencing, like Smell and discharge.

I'm never really itchy or feel burning unless I'm on my period sometimes, but I'm ok after that.

I really do need help on this.

So... QUESTION.

Will the doctor want to take a look at my vagina before giving me anti-biotics? Or do I just explain the problem to her.

As I mentioned above, I'm pretty shy and embarrased about this, and showing a doctor my vagina would make me feel way too awkward.

First thing DO NOT put youghurt anywere near there, are uturs is a very well balanced place the slitest lil thing can make u have a yeast infection, and thats what it sounds like to me abnormal cells will not cause this i have that. Also if its like a thick white or yellow and smells like almost potatos then that is a yeast infection u can go to any drug store and get medication for it, if that doesnt work and u are a virgin then it should be anything like VD. That only comes for having sex, it can also be transford through 4 play. but again if it doesnt work then u must go, they have seen it all and trust me they have seen much much worse.
good luck.

sweety99 & iloveranger88 are BOTH on target. Have yourself checked out and don't be afraid to ask questions. I am an older female in the UK, and I am entering my second half-century. You are just starting out. Please do not feel alone. I spent the better part of my early life with self-image and health anxiety attacks by not pursuing the "ask questions of your doctor" tactic. I too was embarrassed and ashamed, and I had worries about my lady parts. I have had extensive examinations, tests, and taken who-knows-how-many (?) unnecessary vaginal cremes, ointments, suppositories, douches, powders, wipepads and oral medicine to "cure" the normal smell of my body. I have had BV & yeast in the past, but even when I am healthy by all measures, I have always been insecure of the amount, type, and nature of my pungent vaginal smell and secretions. To ME it is offensive, but I have found that my man absolutely adores it all. Blushing. I don't know if that is any help, but even if you exhaust all medical explanations for your current concerns, and I pray that you do so!, you can take solace in knowing that there is a woman across the pond old enough to be your great-grandmother who knows what you feel! Please accept a hug from Ali! God Bless.,

I understand feeling shy and not wanting to have a physical.... but PLEASE, do not let that stop you. I was shy too, but the doctors have seen hundreds of vaginas, and with every problem, every smell, every color, everything weird and "gross" that you can think of, and they will not blink an eye. They usually must examine you in order to properly diagnose the problem. I don't know about for human doctors, as I work in a veterinary clinic, but it is illegal for us to prescribe medications, diagnose, or suggest treatment for something that has just been described to us, in case we give the wrong treatment and it gets worse. Also you must have pap smears yearly in order for them to know that you have not 1)contracted STD's, 2) have abnormal cells or precancerous cells. It is to your benefit to have the physical! For your problem, normal infections are yeast infections, that can have white discharge and itch a lot, or bacterial vaginosis, which has a fishy smell. Research yeast infections online, if it sounds like it you can get some over-the-counter miconazole yeast infection treatment. Luck!

More than likely yes they will do an examination. If the odor is fishy then it is probably BV which will require antibiotics.
