17 AND POSSIBLY PREGNANT?

My question kind of has two parts to it! I am 17 years old. I lost my virginity when I was 15, but I've always been really smart about sex. Always use protection, and I only had sex with my boyfriend whom I was with for 2 years. I had gotten a yeast infection about a year or two ago, and I took over the counter meds and it cleared up! That boy and I ended in December. Last saturday, I made a HUGE mistake and had unprotected sex with a friend. He didn't finish inside of me, but I know there's a possibility of pre-***. I don't exactly know when my period is supposed to come, considering it's always been kind of irregular, but since before the sex my breasts were sore, so I believed I was about to start. I haven't started yet, and my breasts aren't sore anymore. I know I could have not started because I was stressing out and the end of school, and tests. I took a pregnancy test yesterday, and it showed a negative sign, but I'm not convinced. Could I be pregnant and what are the odds?

(Second part to the question!)
My vagina has been very irritated over the past day or so. I think it's just because I used some new soap and it might have dried it out a little, and I applied some triple antibiotic ointment to it after I showered, and cleaned it really well. But I'm worried it's something more! I can't exactly go to the doctor, because my family doesn't have a family doctor, and my parents only take us to the hospital if I'm really, really sick. What do you think it is? There is no odd discharge, or anything of that sort. :/

Good luck with the hpt, but I just wanted to mention that you should be tested for STD's at your doctors when he does a pap smear, since you have now been with two partners.

Underware is a good thing. The inside seam of your jeans is going to be a whole lot more abrasive than underware ever will be. EEYOUCH!!!

thank you very much!

i don't use douches, and i don't wear underwear much anymore. but i'm pretty positive i have a yeast infection, a mild one at least. i've had one once, when i first became sexually active and i took an over the counter medication for that, and it cleared it right up. i'm picking one up today, so wish me look! You are most likely not pregnant, but I know how scary it is to even think it might be possible at your age. Take another home pregnancy test at about 4 weeks after the date of intercourse and you will have your answer.

It's pretty common to have occasional irritation. Now that you are sexually active and have had more than one partner it is important for you to get to know your body and to know how to take care of it.

Don't use perfumed soaps, lotions, or body products on your genitals.
Make sure you are using tampons and other feminine products safely.
Don't ****** with anything other than vinigar and water, only once or twice a month.
Know your sexual partner and thier history.

When you do have irritated skin, try to pinpoint the cause.

Is it because you used a soap or other product that may have irritated your skin?
Is it because you may have douched too often?
Is your underware rubbing you in a not so nice way?
Did you use a personal lubricant or brand of condom that you may be allergic to?

Or could it be something else?

Do you notice any unusual odor, or discharge?
Do you have any sores that you've never had before?

For something simple like chafing from clothing or not using enough lubricant during sex, diaper cream with zinc oxide will sooth the skin and heal it pretty quickly. Usually whithin 2 to 4 days.

If you notice an odor, or discharge you should see the doctor. It could be a yeast infection, which you can usually tell by holding a mirror and parting the vaginal lips with your fingers. If you notice anything resembling cottage cheese, it's most likely yeast. Or it could be bacterial vaginitis. With this type of infection, you may notice an odor and a clear discharge that is runny, and may resemble snot when you wipe after going potty.

For other irritation, there are many many different over the counter feminine products sold at Walgreens, RiteAid, and at your local grocery store in the "girlie isle".

If your slight itching turns into an itch that makes you want to rip your clothes off and attack it with a bristly hairbrush (in otherwords, if you can't easily ignore it) please go see the doctor.

If you don't have a regular doctor, you can always go to Planned Parenthood. They are very good at helping young women keep themselves healthy.

Good Luck!!!

i'm kind of looking to know how common an irritated vagina is. i don't think it's anything huge. there is no rash, no bumps, nothing. it's just a little red, and a little itchy. and what can i do to get rid of this irritation?

to answer the first question, you'd have to wait until at least 2 weeks after you had the sex to take the test if you don't get your period by then
for the second, wait and see if it continues to be irrateated, if it is then you will have to see the Dr and tell them you had unprotected sex, it could be a std. also when i have a yeast infection i have no discharge, the dr's always ask me, and i haven't a clue i have a yeast infection
