Pregnant and breastfeeding?

Hi all! i have a 3 month old and i pump breastmilk. He doesnt actually breastfeed since he has had a hard time latching on to me since day one. I pump throughout the day. Is that still considered breastfeeding and am I safe from pregnancy? lately i have been very tired - like exhasted! and have had severe headaches and body aches! my nipples are sore from pumping so I wouldtn know if that is a sign of pregnancy! its frustrating - i finally got back to feeling semi normal after birth and sleepless nights - now i feel as though i might be pregnant again. ANY SUGGESTIONS!?? i am freaking out!

First, congratulations on breast feeding! Pumping is definitely a chore and you're to be commended for doing it exclusively. As for pregnancy, the hormone produced by breast feeding shuts off your period. As long as you don't have a period you're safe. Pumping should work as well in that regard as regular breast feeding deos. Whenever you stop pumping or slow down considerably, that's when you should start using protection again.
