Pregnant and not able to stomach food.

I am just 10 weeks pregnant with my first child and I am not able to eat anything.
I had realy sensitive smelling to begin with and now is just ridiculas, all the smells of sweet things, sour things, bitter things, are realy getting to me. Its all making me want to puke.
What should I do if I am not eating, is my baby going to get everything it needs?

I was worried because I just got over a magor operation on my knee and leg,
they had me in the hospital for a week and I must of lost 20 pounds.
The docters had me on a liquid diet because I couldn't hold anything down
with the pain killers, they had me on percasets, and I was so bad I couldnt see
strait, I was shaking and not making any sence. It has been four and a half months since it happened and I am not shure my body has fully recovered.
Now knowing that I am pregnant I am just freaked that I will shoot myself back
into that unhealthy state! I dont want to eat anything it is all making me sick, should I get my docter to put me back on a liquid diet just in case I cant hold down my food?

I have that gagging thing to.  It's terrible.  This morning I was walking from the train and I swore I was going to throw up.  I just gagged a couple of times.  It's so strange, it comes out of no where.  I'm so used to throwing up now, it's like second nature.  My fiance is always wondering if I'm ok, all I can say is yep I'm fine, used to it by now.  I can go throw up and come back to work like nothing.  Not that it's pleasurable, it's just part of the whole pregnancy thing.  I'm hoping it lets up in a few weeks.

as mami said, the baby is fine. the only thing you have to do is make sure that you don't get severely dehydrated, as that can affect both your health and the health of the baby. As far as nutrition, your baby's nutritional needs are very small right now, and it'll take whatever it needs from you. i went through a week where all i could eat was crusty french bread, and another week where all i could stomach was plain pasta with a touch of butter. it should begin to fade within a few weeks. i did find that eating something bland every 1 1/2 hours did seem to help a little with nausea. I also took a prescription anti-nausea medication, which helped a little. while it did not take away the nausea completely, i didn't actually vomit while i was on it.

I also have this, I'm only 7 weeks. I can't even look at food, let alone keep it down! When I was washing my hair last night, even the smell of my shampoo made me nauseas! I don't know what to do, I go around gagging constantly, I can barely function...I hope it lets up soon!

i experienced the same thing, and now, in my third trimester its back again!

i ate a lot of carbs and also fruits, not the best diet, but its important just to get the calories where you can.

anything that is very bland is better, i also ate a lot of potato chips :)

I forgot to add.  The baby is fine.  As long as you're keeping most of the food down, everything is alright.  My doctor says eat whatever I can tolerate.

It's normal.  I'm 10 weeks as well and when I first was barely pregnant I could eat anything and didn't get sick.  Now depending on what I eat, I throw up.  I went food shopping sunday and the sight and smell of the raw meat made me so sick to my stomach.  The first trimester is the worst but it should get better in a few weeks.  As long as you are not losing too much weight and dehydrating than it is just typical "morning sickness".  They don't know why this happens although they speculate that the increase of the progesterone hormone causes this nausea.  Try eating dry saltine crackers or rice.  They say tea helps as well to curb the nausea.
