I read that a woman can get pregnant two years after her last period if she is going thru menopause. what do you think?
Your gf can indeed get pregnant, but the likelihood of everything going without complication is low. Your son would (at the least) think it ironic if you got someone pregnant after giving him the speech about condoms. Good luck!
Yes I read that as well along with higher risk of birth defects (like 10 times higher) along with other complications. No her daughter already has a brother (23). I have a 16 year old son who I told to be careful. Don't like using condoms but for now seems like the best idea.
I don't blame her for being scared although the daughter might like having a new brother or sister!!!
Actually my dr said that women in their late 40's early 50's often think they are safe from pregnancy so they become lax with birth control and then, surprise, surprise someone's pregnant!! The thing is that if you in your late 40's early 50's then you are at risks of a problem pregnancy as well.
Until she is completely through with menopause, she is still ovulating and can get pregnant. It's not common but it does happen more than you'd think. My friend is now a proud momma at the age of 49, so it can and does happen. Using birth control is a good idea for you two.
Her daughter is 29 and she is scared to death to potentially be in a situation where she would have to tell her daughter a sibling is on the way.
