Need some help please

I've been having this weird sort of heart burn for the past few days. It feels like something hard is stuck in my chest as if i didn't chew something right and its slowly going down the middle of my chest starting from the bottom of my throat. It doesn't just happen when i swallow, it happens randomly throughout the day. Its been happening for about 2 days now and it even happens when I sleep. I took some pills for heartburn this morning and it helped for a bit but it came back. I'd like to see if someone sort of has an idea of what it could be or if I should be worried before going to the doctor.

HI,
Your symptoms can be due to dyspepsia, gastritis, peptic ulcer or gastric reflux disease etc. A bland diet and use of antacids should help. This can also be oesophageal spasms. Oesophageal spasms can feel like sudden, severe chest pain that lasts from a few minutes to hours. Oesophageal spasms can lead to chronic pain and swallowing problems. Consult your Doctor.
The answer is based on information provided. Exact advice is not possible without a proper examination and investigations. You are requested to consult your Doctor. Take care and keep us posted.
