Puffy hands, feet, and ankles

I have noticed swelling in my hands, feet, and legs mostly in the evening.  After awakening in the morning it goes away.  However, I woke up this morning still puffy.  What could be the cause?

You are retaining water for some reason.  Are you overweight?  Some women retain water right before their periods.  How old are you?  If the swelling persists see your doctor to rule out any heart issues or other medical conditions.

Are you pregnant? Sometimes people at a young age who are pregnant can get puffy feet and hands..
