Sex on your period

My question is that why is it that sex on your period is so frowned upon in society. My girlfriend and I have a wonderful relationship. It is infact furthered by the fact that we have sex on her period. She absolutely loves it - so much more because she felt unwanted and unattractive by her other previous partners during this time. She also says that having sex helps relieve tension and discomfort. I for one find my girlfriend very attractive at this time of month and whilst I write, this is a topic she she would never discuss even with her girlfriends. I mean women discuss everyting. I for one enjoy being supportive and caring of her but am dumfounded by why she says it is such a taboo subject. I spoke to some of my male friends and some are indifferent about it.

That is just the thing... I am hornier during AF too, but the consequences of having an orgasm during AF are just not worth it for me - I get a horrible flare up in my cramps afterwards.  They are severe for about a half hour to an hour after... so strange.

Ok, for myself I find that having an orgasm on my period is painful, but if I don't have one and I have sex then my cramps are much easier.  I'm gonna get a little technical here, the penis has a flared head so that it can create a suction, and that suction helps to pull out the menstuation, if it's being pulled out then your uterus doesn't have to contract (causing cramps) to help get all of the blood out.  Mine sucks too I get it for 8-10 days, always have, probably always will.  And it makes me jealous too to read posts about 'my scheduled 3 days' that just doesn't seem fair.  But on the other end there are girls who get it for 12-14 days.  Thank God it's not me.

Ya'll might find this humorous, I do.
I have a "friend" who is a Pastor's wife, and they are very contemporary at their church.  (By that, I mean...not traditional in the churchy way).  I found out that she told one of her daughters that it was wrong!  She used the word wrong! for a huband and wife to have sex during the cycle.  I have always heard that a long time ago people felt this way, but this is a very 'cutting edge' church, and I was dumbfounded that people still feel this way.
My opinion, if you're okay with it and so is your gf, then go for it.  Personally, it doesn't bother me.  I'm usually a little hornier during that time anyway, so I love it.

Well girlies with your short 10 day periods...I had mine for about fifteen weeks straight non-stop. I just had a D&C for that very thing. (and this is not the first time this has happened, and not even the second...it is a regular thing with me. YUCK!!) I would LOVE to have an 8 day period! As for the sex and cramps, I think it releives them. I also think I am hornier during AF. Oh well, I guess we are all different and this post just proves it.

This is actually something that I have been meaning to ask, so I will jump in here:  Am I the only one that has worse cramps after sex?  If I am close to that time of the month or during AF, my cramps get really bad after an orgasm.. Is this odd?

Well some guys just think it's gross for one.  It's against some religions, because the menstuation is considered unclean.  Some have tried it but have had a bad experience with it.  Remember not all girls have the same kind of period, some are heavy and have blood clots, some are light, some bleed for 8 days some for 3.  Some women have periods that are more odorous than others.  It's a state of mind from way back when, you know when you got married before you had sex, and it was always that when a woman is having 'her time' she is off limits.  Also, some women don't like to be touched then either because they are self-conscious about it.  If you and her are ok with it then great, continue.  As far as it relieving tension, I can say from experience that it helps with menstrual cramps, alot.
