they are not dangerous per se, and when people have them removed it's mainly for cosmetic reasons, or because they become irritated or irritating. However, there is, in some people, and association with skin tags and colon polyps. If there's a history of colon polyps or colon cancer in your family, it means you might need to consider screening at an earlier age than usual recommendations.
Interesting I didn't know that. I'll check that out further. I have a few now and Ive had one or two removed by a doctor cause they were very irritating along my bra line or at my neck. I thought they were related to hormones.
i recently found a skin tag right outside of my anus. i jus wanted to kno if they have to be sergically removed or is it possible that they heal themselves. i kno they are harmless i jus dont want such a thing on my body forever.
I have an ex-boyfriend who has small skin tags along his neck, and a large one near his scrotum. It's my understanding that they are harmless and hormonal in nature.
