Some advice please!

What is the latest anyone has tested positive for pregnancy on a urine test? If I was pregnant I would be 3 months today. I doubt I am preg, as I have had 2 periods on time even though they were short (2 - 3 days), but have had multiple neg tests including this morning.

I should trust these tests shouldn't I? And go with not pregnant??? 3 months means I would be finished first trimester so surely tests would be pos by now?!! I also had a neg blood test at what woulda been 7 weeks. Please some advice!

Thank you for replying. I did have a serum hcg test done about 3 weeks ago and it came back negative (less than 0.5 was the result), which was about 7 weeks after intercourse. Would a blood test be accurate by then? I also had an ultrasound done 2 weeks ago just after I had the short period and my endometrium lining was very thin. Dr. said this was because I just finished my period.

Would/could the endometirum lining appear on ultrasound as a thin line for a pregnant women at the stage of around 10 weeks or would it be different?

Thank you.

Hello,
Once pregnancy occurs, there is cessation of menstrual periods. So if you had two short periods, chances of pregnancy are less likely.

Pregnancy test kits are basically qualitative kind of test which just tests presence of hCG hormone in the urine of pregnant woman because this hormone is only produced during pregnancy among women. But this pregnancy test depends upon the particular level of hCG in the blood. So sometime it may be possible that it can give you false negative results during early days of pregnancy only because of un- sufficient level of hCG to make test positive. So it is important to get serum HCG test done which is more specific than urine for pregnancy test.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing
