first period

I had my first period yesterday and it's bleeding very heavily is there a way you can slow down the blood flow?

There is not way to slow it down. Heavy flow the first time on your period is normal. I had my first period about a year and half ago. Mine was very heavy too. After you get your period a couple more times the blood may start to slow down and get a little thinner. And just a tip- if you are having cramps, eat a banana. That always helps with mine.

Hi.  Nope.  Part of the process of dispelling your uterine lining.  You may find some cycles there is less and others there are more.  Hang in there.  You'll go through lots of changes over the years in terms of your period.  good luck
