if a doctor says a procedure is needed....whether you want to get it or not you need it done. i need a colposcopy done...do i want to have it done? no...but i'm getting it done. (it's a biopsy of the cervix) if it's for your health suck up whatever it is that's keeping you from doing it and get it done.
as far as the burning, swollen and itchy...you need to go to the clinic. tell them about it and they may push up your appointment. or go to a planned parenthood clinic. it sounds like you could have an std or an infection which needs attention immediately.
