Spotting for 1 week plus after loss of virginity and on pill!

I lost my virginity on my wedding night and in preperation I started Desogen birth control 4 months ago.  My placebo/period pills fell on my honeymoon so the pharmacist said I could skip those pills and continue onto a new pack.  I did, had sex, and there was a little blood.  I expect this because my husband is a very big man.  However, the entire week of my honeymoon and the whole week we have been back, I have had a bloody discharge (a few clots, and period like symptoms) and tomorrow I start my placebo pills all over.

Does anyone know what this could be?  Do you think this means my birth control is not as effective?  I am going to see a doctor on monday, but I am extremely nervous and wanted to see if anyone could help.  My husband is hesitant to have sex with me in fear he is the one causing the bleeding, but even on days we do not have sex, I am still spotting heavily.

THanks so much!  Ashley

It's probably your period trying to break through since you skipped the placebos and went straight to the bcp's.It should straighten up once you get back on taking the week off for a period(with the placebos)Best wishes  and congrads on the wedding!
