Okay, well you are still of an age in which you have to listen to mom.  :>)  But you are not too young.  Most girls your age use tampons with no problems.  They make slim ones and the plastic applicator kind are easy to use.  I am sure you have some girlfriends that use them, right?  What about some reverse peer pressure.  If you have a best girl friend that is using tampons and you know the family well, know her mom---  and her mom is friends with your mom (I'm buddies with many of the moms of my kids close friends)--  you could talk to your mom about it and ask her to talk to that mom.  And give that mom a heads up that you'd like to use tampons but your mom is balking a little bit.  Any positive reinforcement that it is okay would help.  :>)  Give it a try.  OR, at your next well check---  ask in front of your mom if tampons are okay for girls your age to use .   Your doctor will say absolutely and that will be hard for your mom to argue with.  Good luck hon

Hi there.  The above is false.  Your period does naturally stop in the water.  :>)  I am not a fan at all of the moon cups.  I'd rather use a pad (or anything else).  You can use a thinner pad if swimming.    But tell me again why you can't use tampons?  This is what I recommend.  They work well, easy to use, not gross, etc.  good luck

I can't use tampons cuz my mom says I'm to young and I haven't had my period long enough

Buy a moon cup and it won't be an extra cost and it's safer and more comfortable. Do a little research and talk to you mom. It saves a ton of money!!

I'm a swimmer before. So having my period does not really stop me from training because it's a MUST especially when competitions are coming up. I never use anything. Your period naturally stops in the water, but the thing is once you get out it flow. I usually just put on the pads/tampons when I'm out of the water. I hope this helps.

Thanks any other tips and will the blood be ubsorbed by the pad or will the pad full up with water and no take the blood?

It is still very possible but a risk at times. The pad can possible become unsticky and unattach itself from your bathing suit bottoms. Make sure you feel comfortable who you are swimming with if you are going to be wearing a pad because if worse case scenario it does unattach or even slightly reveal itself, it could be a little embarrassing in front of the wrong group of people.

Hope this helps! Best of luck :)
