I totally agree with iwanttobeamom.  Unfortunately, waiting is your only option.  Are you charting so you know for certain that you are 8 days late?

This happens quite often, unfortunately for us.  :-)

While waiting for your doctor's appt, you only have one option and that is wait 1 week and take another test if your period doesn't come.

It might be possible that you have your dates wrong, or you ovulated late, so that might be why it isn't registering on the hpt yet.  Or the stress of thinking about being pg is making your period late.  It has happened to me twice in the last 8 months.  I was 6 days late for no reason and 8 days late for no reason, other than thinking we had an "oops" and I was pg.

Wait 1 week and take another test.  Good luck!

You could also try PP for a test. At least it would be quicker than waiting the three weeks. And a blood test will give you a more accurate answer.
Good luck!

I unfortunatly know what you are going through. I was supposed to start my period on November 27 and it just started on the 9th of January. I have never been that late, ever. I took test after test, and because of the holidays, my dr's appt wasnt until Jan 11. Well, I had already started and she said that it sounded like I just missed my ovulation. She said that I should tracking my ovulation with the home ov kit. I was sure hoping I was pregnant. Hang in there!
