One quick thing though - don't automatically assume that you'll definitely ovulate on CD14. That's what the textbook body would do, but using the calendar method to predict ovulation is very unreliable. If you have only a limited number of days that you can BD, then it's best to use an OPK to know when you will ovulate. Otherwise, just be sure to BD a few days before and a few days after your predicted date. Also watch for fertile mucus.
ok, thank you......
But about the mucus..???? I guess I really don't understand what it is supposed to be like during ovulation and not....can you explain it....
It's supposed to be abundant clear stretchy mucus, similar to egg-whites. Really slimy.
I agree with JJety - don't assume you will ovulate on day 14.. by using Ovulation Predictor Kits (OPK) I found out I wasn't ovulating until closer to day 17-18 on average. You may find OPKs to be helpful because once you get a positive you know you will be ovulating within 24-48 hours so you just BD on that day and the next 2-3 days. This worked for me because I just got my BFP. Good luck to you! And remember, it takes the average woman 6 months to get pregnant, so be patient!
