Hi there.  Hm, trying to think about this.  Urinary tract infections or UTI's are very specific typically in the manner in which they cause us discomfort.  This typically includes a frequent urge to urinate and burning or pain as the urine flows especially at the end of the flow.  You also never feel like you can empty your bladder.  These are treated with antibiotics. Women who get frequent UTI's need to be evaluated as to why.  There are things that can cause them that we control like how we wipe (wipe front to back and never back to front which pulls fecal matter to the area), careful in sexual activity to make sure no fecal matter from the rectum gets transferred to the urethra, etc.  But there are things outside of our control that lead to frequent UTI's that include our internal anatomy.  That has to be evaluated.  so, if you are truly getting frequent UTI's (monthly?)--  you must see your doctor to determine what is going on in there.

Yeast is different than a UTI and the only reason they ever get lumped together is because when a woman takes antibiotics, she often will get a yeast infection because the antibiotic kills all bacteria, even the good bacteria we need to control yeast in our vagina.  The antibiotic upsets the PH balance of a woman and yeast overgrowth often will occur.  That's the only way they are related.  Yeast infections have the hallmark sign of itching. Discharge is another sign which is often clumpy but doesn't have to be.  Redness, tenderness and burning can also occur (but it is burning on the skin rather than the burning you feel with a UTI which is deep inside-- very different sensation).

Which of these sound more like the culprit?  I would think more yeast infection because that is not uncommon for some women to get associated with their cycle.

Anyway, I do think you need to be re evaluated by a doctor and be very clear about what you've experienced and what you've tried.  good luck
